Women get affected with a number of health issues related to their reproductive organs including uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. Menstrual disorders include problems like heavy or irregular periods, excessive menstrual pain, bleeding between periods. Other gynecological problems include endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, ovarian cysts, gynecological cancer etc. All women must undergo regular gynecological health check-ups. Apart from general health check up, specific screening for women health should be done at regular intervals which examinations of the breast and pelvis, pap smear tests, cancer screenings and screening for vaginal/ sexually transmitted infections.

Most gynecological problems can be managed medically. However certain conditions such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, gynecological cancers etc require surgical intervention.
